A motherly young woman, known well for her doting ways. She holds those around her dear to her heart and will often do her best to spoil the ones she loves and listen to their struggles no matter what. Yuri's unintentionally alluring nature sometimes brings her into the spotlight, but for the most part she prefers to work from the shadows and avoid the attention of fans. She’s jokingly called UNDEAD's angel, due to her nurturing personality clashing with the theme of her unit.
A member of Rhythm Link, as well as UNDEAD's Producer.
"My name is Yuri Shirogane, a producer for UNDEAD and Rhythm Link. Ah? Please call me Yuri, there’s no need to be so formal! Oh? The circles beneath my eyes? Please try not to worry so much about me, you would also have them if you were overseeing a team half made up of nocturnal creatures. Please, enjoy the show put on by my beloved unit.♡" - Yuri"Yuri Shirogane-senpai keeps the rest of us UNDEAD in check, although I'd like to think we're pretty well behaved. She won't stop fussin' over all of us tho! It's no good for a lone wolf like me to be pampered...makes me all stupid and soft, I don't like it. But 'sides from that, Yuri-senpai is chill and takes good care of us, sometimes I wish she'd act less like a "mom" and more like how she used to be tho'...but who am I to complain? Long as she does her job!♪" -Koga
Ensemble Stars! IntroductionA former student of Kimisaki Private Academy who seems to have a past with Anzu. It’s speculated but unknown if her departure is sourced from her failed attempt to become an Idol through the school, or if she left for more personal matters. She joined the Producer course a little after Anzu and was assigned to produce for UNDEAD. She’s jokingly called UNDEAD's angel, due to her nurturing nature clashing with the theme of her unit. A rather doting person, her ways lead to her often taking a very motherly role to those she interacts with, although a keen eye might notice that her maternal actions lean in favor of a certain producer.

Appearance
Yuri is a short young woman with a medium and voluptuous build. She has long dark red hair with a pink-ish tint that reaches down to her hips, with bangs she occasionally styles, but often lets them just fall in front of her face, and icy blue eyes. She is paler than most due to her tendency to stay indoors to work on her projects and paperwork. Due to her paler skin, the dark circles from staying up at night are more prominent. Her office attire consists of a two piece dark purple suit and short pencil skirt with a light lavender dress shirt beneath. Her broach has a reddish-purple gem and gold trim, while her necklace is silver with a blue crystal that holds a cross inside. She also commonly wears a gold watch and ankle bracelets that hug tightly above her black high heels. Her casual wear sees her in a sleeveless dark purple turtleneck, a long black skirt and a rather out of place dull brown sweater with dark gray buttons.Yuri occasionally wears an outfit inspired by her unit when it comes to events where she appears alongside them, it's a small black dress with a large bow made from a ribbon around the waist using UNDEAD's unit color. It also features off shoulder sleeves, thigh high black stockings and a choker with a violet ribbon. She also wears a hat with a purple flower motif and lace gloves. Her ensemble is actually her failed debut outfit, which she would later repurpose thanks to being inspired by Koga.Ensemble Stars! Appearance
Yuri is a short young woman with a medium and mature build. She has long dark red hair that reaches down to her hips that she often keeps in twin braids, and icy blue eyes. As Yuri doesn't go outside much thanks to spending most of her time at school or work, so her skintone is quite pale. Due to her paler skin, the dark circles from staying up at night are more prominent. She wears the school uniform with the white shirt unbuttoned at the collar and a green tie. She also wears black high heels and thigh high stockings.Secret photos from her attempted shot at being an idol show her in a small black dress with a large bow, off shoulder sleeves, thigh high black stockings and a choker with a violet ribbon. It appears to be not very extravagant due to her never debuting. She would later repurpose it after urging from Koga as a dress themed after UNDEAD, which led to her adding a hat with a purple flower motif, a ribbon around the waist now using UNDEAD's unit color, and lace gloves. Anzu originally assisted her in creating it.
Personality
Yuri is a very doting and calm character, which is perhaps due to the fact that she is a bit older than most. She treats everyone with a gentle patience unless it comes to her Unit, which she has a notably less kindness towards although it isn’t of ill will, more of an indicator of their familial bond. She’s been described as a second mother figure by most who know her, as she’s always doing traditionally “motherly” things, and is genuinely very loving to all in her care, even if her fussing can be much at times. Yuri is well known for being overly affectionate and touchy, and will often fix up other's appearances or wrap them in her arms unprompted. Forehead kisses are also not foreign to her as well.Even though her voice is a bit on the higher registry, Yuri often talks with a soft and sweet tone, akin to a gentle hum. It's very rare to hear her raise her voice, but she's been described as a "villainess" by those who have witnessed such occasions.Despite Yuri's motherly nature which makes her a steadfast shoulder to lean on, she often struggles with feelings of inadequacy that she keeps tucked away, alongside her deep-seated feelings of loneliness and desire for connection, all born from her upbringing. Yuri also is morbidly afraid of failure, and believes others are allowed to fall short but she is not. This feeling stemming from her failure to save those she loved, as well as failing her attempt to debut as an idol.Anzu seems to imply that the Yuri now is very different from the Yuri she knew back when they were in Kimisaki Private Academy, and seems surprised that her peer dotes on her at all. Anzu won’t speak more on it however and insists that if Yuri wanted her past to be known, she would tell it.The Yuri of the past, used to be somewhat of a rocker girl after she witnessed a performance by a young Rei Sakuma, which encouraged her to be a bit more wild. She had a looser way of speaking back then, and while she still was responsible for her brother and maintained a job, she had a bit more spunk and a firey tongue.
Etymology
Yuri’s first name (百合) means “lily” and “Shiro” (白) in her last name translates to “white” while “gane” (銀) translates to “silver”, making her name roughly mean “silvery white lily”.In Hanakotoba, white lilies are meant to symbolize purity and chastity, as well as occasionally majesty or dignity. Although it can be pointed out that with her red hair, she resembles more of a Higanbana also known as the "Red Spider Lily" which means "abandonment" "final goodbyes" and "lost memories."
Trivia
Yuri's title back in Yumenosaki was "UNDEAD's Angel" or "Angel of the UNDEAD Night" which would later be changed to "UNDEAD's Angel dancing amongst starlight" after her graduation. However, in later events she's taken on a more "majestic" title and is sometimes referred to as "The Starlit Queen dancing in the night" (or just "The Starlit Queen") thanks to her appearance in a PR move after a disastrous solo live of Rei's.
Yuri is affectionately referred to by others of RhythmLink as "The Nocturnal Producer" thanks to her tendency to stay long hours at the office.
Even though she commonly wears lipstick, Yuri doesn't really wear any other makeup as she's rather bad at putting it on. She wants to learn however.
Yuri has a nasty habit of catching a crush on anyone who shows her basic human kindness. - For example, upon arriving in Yumenosaki, she was greeted by Wataru and instantly taken with his overly friendly ways which ended up in her developing a brief crush.
Yuri believes in indirect kisses to the point where she was extremely distressed when Kaoru drank from her water bottle during a practice while they were still attending Yumenosaki. Leading a distraught Yuri to exclaim "He stole my first kiss......I can never get married now!!"
Yuri worked at a Maid Café on the side while in school, both in Kimisaki and Yumenosaki. Due to this, she has retained some habits when bringing food to the table that her unit teases her mercilessly for.
Despite producing the rock based UNDEAD, Yuri has a strong preference for songs with violins and opera-like instrumentals.
Due to girls not being allowed in Seisou Hall, Yuri rents a cheap tiny apartment nearby with just enough space for a bed and a small table where she keeps her work.
Yuri held a brief grudge against Trickstar, as Anzu spent most of her time with them and for awhile she would lament about how they were "overworking her and keeping her from me(Yuri)" and it was only after witnessing their efforts during the School Festival where she would realize how foolish she was being.
Yuri has a soft spot for almost everyone younger than her, but it can be noted she is especially soft on Natsume and Tsukasa. The reason for that being they remind her of her brother in looks and age, especially in Natsume's case.
Yuri is a distant relative of the Amagis, however it appears their families have been estranged for some time.
In the timeline, Yuri doesn't arrive in Yumenosaki until after the events of Ensemble and wouldn't become UNDEAD's producer until a few weeks before Ressurection Sunday.
History
Early YearsBorn to a poor family, Yuri was used to growing up with very little, and despite being the oldest, she was often overlooked in favor of her younger brother, Daiki. They were born only a year apart and were almost inseparable. They didn’t have much but they loved to play by the river that went under the bridge, using their imagination to make up scenarios, put on fake performances on a stage made from cardboard or play in the waters. Due to both of her parents working, she would how to keep a house at a very young age, often putting dinner on the table for her and her brother, as well as making plates for when her parents came home. Her parents always told her that it would benefit Yuri and Daiki in the long run, as they were saving up in hopes of getting them into some of the top schools in the hopes of one of them landing a high paying job and becoming richer than their parents could acquire at that time. With Yumenosaki Private Academy being so close, and Daiki having a natural talent for dancing, they hoped that he would become a successful idol. They wanted Yuri to attend Kimisaki in the hopes she would make some friends with connections and make a life that way, especially because Yuri wasn’t passionate about anything at the time, they thought it would be the quickest way for her to acquire wealth. When Yuri was old enough to be enrolled, she would be quick to join the chorus club and found a joy in singing for fun. However her first year was uneventful until the second year rolled around.Daiki was of age to attend Yumenosaki, but because of his forgetful mind, he would often leave his lunch at home. Since it was much closer for Yuri to run to Yumenosaki to share her lunch with him, rather than him run home and grab his, she would often forgo eating in order to bring her beloved brother food. Eventually, Daiki started coming home late, leading Yuri to tail him after school one day to the Underground Live House, where she would witness a performance by Rei Sakuma, which she was immediately drawn into. This would lead to her beginning to show up to the Underground Livehouse, where she watched the first "live" of Rei, Koga and Keito, becoming absolutely absorbed in the performance and for the first time, feeling a glimmer of desire for what she wanted to do in life.Yuri’s moment would come when during a performance, a cross pendant snapped off the uniform of a young Koga and struck her in the head. Since they looked like real gold, she knew she had to give it back somehow, and miraculously she got lucky as while nervously pacing on one of the back paths, she caught sight of the group walking off, which compelled her to run over. The sound of her voice must have scared Koga as the moment she made a noise, he suddenly launched at her and had to be held back by Rei and Keito so he wouldn’t bite. Yuri would be quick to apologize and try to give back the charm, but Rei seemed amused and tossed her one of his gold chains instead, telling her to put the cross on that and keep it as a necklace instead and after many attempts to try and insist they take it, Yuri finally conceded and put it around her neck. The encounter would lead to her growing the courage to ask questions about how they went about becoming idols, and oddly enough a friendship of sorts was formed, and she would be well known as a regular to the shows and they would frequently make small talk after if there was still time. She'd also visit with Koga occasionally when running Daiki his lunch, and the two would often gush about "How cool Sakuma-senpai was."Because of Yuri’s experience with DEADMANZ, she began to take her chorus club sessions more seriously and started writing her own music, as well as working on choreography with her brother. Her parents noticed this sudden drive and overtime, would start to pay her more and more attention, and apply more and more pressure. But Yuri seemingly didn’t mind as she wanted to be on stage and evoke that much life from people, just like the group she admired so dearly. She was hoping that by the time they were reunited after their leader was done studying abroad, she would be talented enough to talk to them as equals.Around this time, she would meet a young Anzu who was skipping class with Suzu Kuromori on the roof top as usual, while originally going up there with the intention to practice, Yuri ended up sitting down and talking with the first years, finding their attitude refreshing compared to the stifling rules that had dampened most students attitude. While they didn’t actively seek each other out, she enjoyed their company when the three of them happened to be on the rooftop at the same time. The first blow to Yuri’s passions to become an idol came with the execution of Rei Sakuma, she struggled to believe any of the things people were saying about the unit leader she admired so much, and since Koga also defended Rei still, she knew it had to be a lie. Then came his growing absences as he was forced around to their sister schools, and she watched the once proud idol, get beaten down into a broken shell of himself before he vanished entirely. The second blow would come in the form of her brother’s death. As Daiki felt like their parents had given up on him and the new student council led by Eichi Tenshouin had cracked down on rules at Yumenosaki, things had become so strict and tight, between his home and school life, everything was too much. Even Yuri had become less available due to the pressure her parents had set on and expected of her.On that horrible day, things were going as always, Yuri was making the run from Kimisaki academy to Yumenosaki, but upon arrival, Daiki was nowhere to be found. She would ask around if anyone saw him, only to be met with negative responses. She even barged in on the Student Council, desperate for information just to find they also knew nothing and were indifferent to her plight. With Daiki being found nowhere in Yumenosaki, Yuri would go to file a police report and wait long agonizing hours before the news came that his body was found at their old play haunts.Lost in her grief, Yuri would focus everything on her practice, but it was an empty attempt as she could feel the spark dying out inside her. Her parent’s pressure got worse and she watched numbly as more reports similar to her brother’s kept coming out of Yumenosaki Academy.Yuri’s final breaking point came when Anzu grew tired of the strict ways of Kimisaki Academy and started a rebellion campaign against it. While she didn’t have the energy to support or oppose Anzu, she watched from the sides, wishing her underclassmate the best secretly. Only for Anzu’s attempt to be brutally stamped out, she was stripped of her position as president of the tea ceremony club, branded as a trouble maker and subjected to cruel bullying in an attempt to get rid of her.Yuri still reeling from the loss of her brother and weighted under the expectations of her parents, never joined in on the harsh treatment of the young girl, but also never stepped in to help Anzu, ignoring the scenes in front of her, she was a quiet onlooker to the cruel punishment Anzu suffered.A moment still sticks with her when at one point, her eyes locked with Anzu and the desperate pleading expression burned into her brain, adding another reminder of the people she couldn’t save. Soon, the day came when Anzu didn’t show up to school, and the teachers were so pleased with that fact it made Yuri sick.Awhile after the events with Anzu, Yuri would audition through Kimisaki Academy to be approved of as an idol, but the events of the year affected her performance and she was deemed a failure by the board. Already weighed down by guilt of those she failed, the impending collapse of her mind following the events took a toll on her, she stopped attending her chorus club and eventually quit going to school all together. Yuri would isolate at home, going back to keeping house for her parents and working on the weekends.Eventually Yuri gathered the courage to go through her brother’s things to figure out what to keep and what to give away or dispose of, and while going through his backpack, she stumbled upon a poster from Yumenosaki announcing the upcoming producer class. Yuri felt drawn to it but forced the thought from her mind and put it in the throw away pile. But while taking the things out to the trash, somehow the poster blew up and hit her in the face, a cheesy part of her said that it was a sign from her brother but the rational part argued. All the same, she ended up folding the poster up and putting it in her pocket for later.Yuri ended up giving into her curiosity and enrolling, although she wouldn’t join the producer course until after the events of the DDD. During the time period where she was waiting for her acceptance letter, she had worked on perfecting a friendly persona, no longer wanting the numbness and pressure to control her and how she acted to people.Last Year (Enstars! Era)After the success of bringing Anzu on as producer, Yuri was among the few others who were accepted into the course and her knowledge about what it took to be an idol proved to be key to her success as she was tasked to work with the older students, which was partially because she was also in year three. As Anzu had been assigned to show the new students in the producer course around the school, her and Yuri would be unexpectedly reunited. Yuri was overcome with emotions and almost sprinted up to Anzu once she saw her, as she feared the worst had happened once her underclassman had disappeared. While Anzu greeted her warmly, there was evidently a wall between them and she no longer treated Yuri with the same openness which Yuri would understand was due to the trauma she suffered from the events at Kimisaki. The producer course was set out to match producers with units who worked best with them, so they started out by being juggled around by random units matched to their skills, Yuri started out with Akatsuki for three days before the next rotation where she then landed in UNDEAD, reuniting her with Rei and Koga.Yuri’s joining UNDEAD proved to be a challenge for her to get used to, as she was unaware of Rei’s new persona and was taken aback when talking to him. Thankfully, Koga was still pretty much the same hot headed boy, if not a little bit more grumpy. She would also meet Adonis and Kaoru for the first time here, where the latter would classically try to make a move on her. Much like Anzu, Yuri was pretty unaccustomed to boys trying to flirt with her, thanks to attending the all girls school, so her first experience with Kaoru had Yuri freezing and Koga had to step in to save the confuddled girl.Because of Rei’s personality shift, Yuri would have to rebuild the way she acted around him and found herself having to get to know him all over again, something she would later bond with Koga over. Over the course of the three days, she would learn what made Rei tick and what he needed to get by, she took to carrying tomato juice in her purse for whenever he needed, as well as a storable parasol whenever they happened to be outside. Thanks to the favor Yuri gained with Rei and already knowing Koga, it didn’t take much for them to accept her and once they were satisfied with the mini show she helped produce, it was easy for them to make a decision to keep her on when rotation came around again, and Yuri was solidified as UNDEAD’s primary producer.Much like the unstable state of UNDEAD, Yuri was not much better as she would frequently prioritize checking in on Anzu more than her unit, while not entirely neglectful, there was more than one event where she would be nowhere to be found. A problem that would quickly be remedied by Koga comparing her to Kaoru after she had missed yet another practice in favor of Anzu. Realizing how hypocritical she was being, Yuri's focus would slowly shift more and more towards UNDEAD, eventually her obsession with Anzu faded into something more manageable.During graduation and RepaymentFes, Yuri makes it a point to reconcile her past with Anzu, apologizing for abandoning her when she needed her the most. She confesses to changing out of a desire to be a person who Anzu needed at the time, and even if she's a little late, she hopes she can be that now. Anzu accepts the apology and the true start of their friendship begins as Yuri's time at Yumenosaki ends.Current Year (Enstars!! Era)Yuri stayed with UNDEAD after graduating, joining them at RhythmLink and working behind the scenes to help as best she could. Due to the group splitting up temporarily to go and do their separate things, Yuri stayed in Ensemble Square with Rei and Kaoru to finish out getting them a more solidified position and to watch Eichi carry out his mission.Yuri would be unhappy with the new idea of randomly assigning idols dorms together, especially with the new "no girls allowed" rule which made her work harder as she was stuck with a tiny apartment. This new development led to her working late nights at the office and could often be found in the mornings passed out at her desk. With Anzu being in school, she had less and less interactions with her, but she didn’t mind since they always tried to go for lunch on the weekends now that their relationship improved. Even though one of them would always be interrupted by some call of sorts, they had begun to enjoy those times, no matter how short they would be cut or interrupted by one of the idols. No longer regulated to just the school, Yuri now found herself dealing with other idols associated with RhythmLink and due to her being UNDEAD’s producer, she was often singled out by the other idols under the agency as someone they should try and get in good with. Yuri apparently didn’t mind it as she got to meet up and coming idols and further cement her place in the company, Rei on the other hand wasn't fond about the situation, putting his foot down when Yuri escorted a drunk idol from a banquet she was attending back to his apartment in a taxi.During Road to Show and when Rei headed out with the other idols for the movie screenings, Yuri stayed behind in Japan with Koga and the rest, but she would time her schedule so she would be able to call and check in everyday. It was during this time that she came to a "horrible realization" thanks to her unitmates and Anzu, but ultimately, locked it away.
